Dental Implant Procedure Miami - Before and After - Case 1
When we look at ourselves in the mirror, the image we see has a lasting effect on our self-esteem. If we feel good about our appearance, we set about our day with confidence. Sadly, missing teeth (edentulism) can take that feeling away from us. Fortunately, there is a way of restoring that pride with a dental implant procedure in Miami.

That air of self-assurance coupled with an appealing smile has a dramatic effect on our lives. You will make a great impression on social contacts, friends, co-workers, business associates, and employers. Studies have indicated that people with a nice-looking smile are considered more trustworthy, honest, intelligent, interesting, friendly, and attractive. This perception is an incredible advantage in your personal, social, and professional life.

If you are suffering with the disadvantages of missing teeth, you may want to consider restoring your smile with dental implants. They mimic natural teeth in both aesthetics and function, providing replacement teeth that are as stable and beautiful as your natural teeth. At Miami Modern Dental, Drs. Marlon Pasquier, Sr. and Marlon Pasquier, Jr. and their staff are extremely skilled and experienced in performing this delicate but straightforward procedure.

The process begins with a comprehensive exam and x-rays to evaluate your bone, gums, and overall oral health. Any additional conditions discovered may need to be treated before continuing with the implant procedure. The surgery is performed in the office on an outpatient basis, as local anesthesia is usually all that is needed for patient comfort during treatment.

The implant is surgically placed in the bone, under the gum, and then a two to four month healing period follows. During the healing stage, the bone grows to and fuses with the implant, in a process called osseointegration. When healing is complete, the implants are essentially new tooth roots, with the same stability as natural teeth. In the second phase of the treatment, the abutments (connectors) are attached through the gum and into the implant, and the gums are given several weeks to heal. The third phase consists of the doctor placing a crown on the abutment.

Some styles of implants allow the implant and abutment to be placed at the same time, reducing the procedure to two phases. Your doctor will know which type of implant is best for you. Call Miami Modern Dental today for a consultation, and begin your journey to a beautiful smile!
